The Impresario Czech Artists Agency of Prague, founded in 1995 by Marek Vrabec, has developed into an important agency of its kind. It is devoted to representing artists in an international context, primarily in the field of classical music.

The Impresario Czech Artists Agency works closely with the most important Czech ensembles devoted to "authentic interpretation" of early music - its core clients - under the leadership of
Marek Štryncl and
David Eben.
International Representation
Impresario also arranges appearances of selected Czech performers abroad - ranging from soloists, chamber ensembles, and orchestras to operatic and ballet ensembles.

Impresario arranges for appearances by foreign artists in concert projects of various presenters including the Prague Castle Administration - an organization funded by the Office of the President of the Republic. In recent years Impresario has arranged for appearances by such ensembles and artists as tenor Peter Straka, contrabassist
Miroslav Vitouš, the Wiener Kammerorchester, American pianist
Cecil Taylor, Klaus Mertens of Germany, from England the
Michael Nyman Band and the Emperor String Quartet, from France the Ensemble Philidor and Didier Lockwood, and from Israel Shalev Ad-El and the
SheshBesh ensemble with Yair Dalal.

Impresario works as a co-producer with the Prague Castle Administration, especially for the Strings of Autumn Festival at the Prague Castle of which Marek Vrabec is a co-founder. In close cooperation with the Prague Castle Administration, Impresario shares in programming and producing concerts at the castle including
Stings of Autumn and the modern premiere of Jan Dismas Zelenka's monumental musical-dramatic work
Sub olea pacis et palma virtutis (Under the Oliver Branch of Peace and the Palm of Virtue), composed in 1723 for the coronation of Charles VI as King of Bohemia.
Production of Audio Recordings
Impresario works as a producing agency for selected recording projects, serving as producer for recordings by Musica Florea for Supraphon (the most important Czech recording company) among other labels. Let us mention for example the world premiere recording of church cantatas by
J.L. Dukát - Cithara nova 1707, the premiere recording of
J.D. Zelenka's Sub olea pacis et palma virtutis, and a unique series of recordings from the archive of Prague's Order of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. (For more information see the
Discography.) In April 2002 the St. Wenceslas Vespers by Pavel Josef Vejvanovský were released in a world premiere recording on a Supraphon compact disc.
